Plymouth United Church of Christ is an
Open and Affirming congregation, embracing diversity and affirming the dignity and worth of every person, since we are all created in God's image. We welcome into full membership and participation in the Body of Christ persons of every race, ethnic background, age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, socio-economic background, marital status and faith background. We welcome all to share in the life, leadership, ministry, fellowship, worship, sacraments, responsibilities, humor, and blessings of participation in our congregation.
We invite you to join us for worship or any other gathering of Christian fellowship. Given our Open and Affirming status, we are from different walks of life, hold a wide range of beliefs and interests, are at different stages in our journeys of faith, and welcome all who desire a relationship with God and those who aren't sure what that means but would like to explore it. Our diversity unites us in an atmosphere of Christian love and care, helping one another in our faith walk. Plymouth is a church home where people know your name, are glad to see you, pray for you when you need it, accept you as you are, and really mean it when they say "The peace of Christ be with you": our members make Plymouth just that kind of church! Please join us for worship or any of the other events you see listed in our newsletter or on this website.

Plymouth is a loving congregation on Eau Claire's west side founded in 1885 as Second Congregational Church. In 1957, we covenanted with many other congregations around the United States and formed a brand new denomination: the
United Church of Christ. At that time, we changed our name to Plymouth United Church of Christ. In 1995, we built a modern handicapped-accessible structure in a beautiful and secluded wooded lot on Moholt Drive. In 2007, after twelve years of saving money and worshiping in the fellowship room, we built (and completely paid for) our long-anticipated
sanctuary and held our first worship service in it on Easter Day, April 8, 2007.
In addition to Sunday worship and Sunday school, we have a Tuesday morning Bible Study, youth group, Wednesday evening Lenten services and soup suppers, movie nights, game nights, quilters who make wonderful quilts to give away to Western Dairyland, a women's fellowship, ministry to shut-ins and the sick, support of St. Francis Food Pantry and Community Table, summer Vacation Bible School, activities for children, outings to local restaurants and shows, a summer pie and ice cream social, thrift sale, a Christmas Bazaar, and sell our amazingly delicious and incredible baked goods on election days (we're a polling place). And, of course, the wonderful pot lucks and good fellowship.
